Rooster is Annie Myers and Erin Kinard and was formed in 2016. Blending folk traditions unique to Western North Carolina with modern Americana sounds, Rooster plays original songs as well as pays tribute to their musical heroes. Their influences include Gillian Welch, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Shovels and Rope and Simon and Garfunkle. Annie and Erin both studied music in college and have both been playing guitar for over 15 years. Drumset and acoustic guitar is their main configuration but they also include banjo and other percussion. Their harmonies are full and lush and blend seamlessly around their melodies. They released a 5 song original EP in 2017 are are eager to get back into the studio in early 2018. Their songs have been featured on Charleston's Ohm Independent Radio.
